A lovely dinette

Madame M opened her pottery studio in France last year .. Since she multiplies creations, unique pieces, small bowls, ornaments, jewelry and more recently a small dinette. Her "influences are very diverse, the aesthetics of Japanese, traditional Scandinavian design through nature, its forms and fruit, and the new generation of ceramists French or foreigners ..." as she defines them.
She prefers "pure porcelain and white stoneware, simple shapes and irregular, containers and jewelry, working alone ... away from" perfection "of industrial and consumer system environment. "...

This beautiful dinette porcelain is like the rest of her collection ... Full of delicacy and poetry. It includes 6 small plates, large cup, bowl and spoon, a pot and its lid. The whole is shaped and created with care in very small series in France. Each piece is unique. The dinette is delivered packed in bubble wrap and tissue paper in a closed cardboard box with a ribbon of white cotton and a label.
Refinement from A to Z for the pleasure of the eyes and little hands!

The moms will be able to enjoy their tea and little cakes in those beautiful sandstone bowls and mini cups ... After all there is no age for a small dinette!

In the south west of France Olivia started her small business of restoring vintage furniture ... "les happy vintage" as she calls them. After having sanded, repainted, magnified chairs, school desks, cabinets or toys, she adds a little personal note as these small stars, one of her favorite motifs.

At home she wanted for herself and her daughters softness. Softness of its home-made garlands in linen, softness of the colors such as the candy pink on the walls and illuminated by retro cushions from Petit Pan and lanterns hanging for a cozy reading corner!

The trendy magazines for children are dreamy ... also in Australia where Papier Mache has released its special issue on decoration ! Lucky you: you do not need to fly thousands of miles to get it, since it is downloadable here.
You can begin your little world deco tour by the Bedroom of Scout in Australia. I like the special places dedicated to her drawings, especially on her door covered with chalkboard paint ...

After that let's go to belgium to the home of Morgane, the founder of Little circus.
Her interior for her children Eliott and Reinette is like her blog: friendly, vintage and very warm.

And to finish wit,h the two princessess bedrooms of the girls of the French designer Appoline à Paris which I had already told you about. Its small wonders fly here and there in their bedroom, under a canopy, under the lights and mobiles of their talented mother and signing her poetic universe.

Each season has its small pleasures ... in November these are the early preparations for Christmas ... and among them the advent calendar ...

The home made are the most personnal ones with small containers to hide each morning of December little surprises ... Above the pretty calendars from the blogger fee maison. or from the French magazine Marie Claire idees which proposes to download the templates and tags. It's easy and pretty.

Below are two ideas proposed by the French Magazine maison et travaux to hang up the little presents: a pasta drier and small magnet figures on a chalkboard.

A room to share

How to create space when the new little brother or sister arrives and we do not have an extra room ? Here are three solutions adopted by ingenious parents and proposed on the website of the French magazine Marie-Claire maison.

Angela and Oscar share a room (above) but still enjoy a personal corner. Angela's bed has been raised and bordered by a security in iron. The green canopy, decorated with small flags, separates the two toddlers.

For their children, Pan and Miriam, the creators of Petit Pan, wanted a room fun and colorful like their collection. Pan has built a cabin painted in white with rounded corners and pierced with small windows where each of his 3 children, found his place. Above the mezzanine, a large bed, decorated with bed linen and cotton pillows of their collection may also serve as a vast sofa to greet friends.

Practical and fun, this cabin room also serves as a storage cupboard with two doors and a playroom area furnished with a sofa and a mushroom lamp.

Another idea: create small rooms separated by a piece of furniture and painting them in different colors. For Sasha and Nico, it has created two single rooms with a bookshelves as a wall .

Each boy has his own corner and can store toys and books. The furniture has been repainted in a very bright yellow. Small squares of fabric with floral Japanese draws were fixed to decorate and separate.

Moreover, to create harmony in the corner of Sasha, his wall and his bed were painted in the same nice green and the other bed was painted in black, giving it a more modern look.

A few extra touches of color are made by a carpet, cushions and bedspreads, a box and a mushroom lamp!!

sweet French little shops, sweet atmospheres

It is not only in interior design magazines that you can find beautiful interiors and sources of inspiration but also in the staging of shops ... and children ones in particular. A new one opens everyday in France and it's hard to choose!

But here are two to which I return often.: Charivari Workshop in Rouen and Loulou addict in Paris.

At Loulou addict, the little children's corner is full of wonders: cushions and linens fron April showers, les petites emplettes... and many small objects from European brands such as the Danish Rice or the French designer Mariette Jonbaz ...

In l'atelier Charivari in Normandy, vintage furniture and furnishing are beautifully restored with charming small fairies from Des pieds des Ailes, to the knitted animals from Anne-Claire Petit (available in the USA at Anthropologie) and the linens from April showers... a small and beautiful world !

Family home atmosphere

A young couple has chosen to expand his Paris apartment by adding the one upstairs. Their new interior, which can be visited on French magazine Marie-claire Maison, website, has become like a family home. The industrial tones of the decoration mix with the soft tones of the paintings.
For the girl of the house, the pink wall is highlighted by a silver branch sticker. The bed from Ikea has been repainted in chocolate to match with the color palette. The soft shades of pink of the night table and the purple of the silk cover by Serendipity, offer a poetic and elegant atmosphere.

In the boy's room, the desk designed by an architect runs along the wall. It has been painted in the same chocolate color like the wall for a brown harmony. The wall has been prepared with a magnetic paint so that the magnetic letters can be fixed on it. Toy fish by Alexander Calder .

In the parents' room, the concrete floor lightly shaded in gray, brings a modern touch to the walls and the old chimney. The quilt on the bed is from Caravane chambre 19 ..

Upstairs the universe is totally dedicated to children with a family room in which a XL sofa takes place in the heart of the room. In front of the sofa, a glass table by Conran shop around which children play and draw. The family atmosphere upstairs fits perfectly with the loft-like industrial atmosphere of the ground-floor .

Once upon a time...a boy's room! Sorry but with my two daughters at home I am often more inspired by girls interiors.

But I had a crush for the poetic atmosphere created by Pomme for her two little boys ...

the sweetness of a light garland, suspensions in paper wich fly in the air, drawings by the two little artists on the walls,

a mobile with colorful elephants from the Danish brand Flensted wich can perpetually move..

and small ephemeral scenes just waiting to be rebuilt according to the desires of two happy little boys!

the 2 Z bedroom

Zephir and Zadig, both Z, are two happy boys in this fun bedroom and vitamin designed by their mother.
I have been able to discover on her blog Cardamone this vintage and colorful atmosphere.

A wardrobe, a magazine rack and shelves found on flea markets set the tone.

The beds were found at our favorite Swedish shop as the duvet cover. They were painted with a grey painting from Farrow & Ball. The antique bed offers a peaceful seating for a reading corner.

On the shelf a globe to travel and a book that belonged to their grandmother when she was little and that inspired her daughter to the choice of her children names,

The kite from Petit Pan flies above the fish garland in wool made by their aunt and installed in their bowl designed by their mother on the wall.

When the kids shut the door of their room, it becomes a hanging place to expose their drawings, maps, memories with clothespins!

When fun and practical mix up so nicely I just love it!

A room with a view

An incredible view on the roofs of Paris with a minimalist and chic interior : this is how Amelia Bethia-Gillier could define her new apartment.

The former artistic director of Zadig and Voltaire embarked on a new adventure: the creation of her own brand LoveMilla with vintage, romantic and luxurious clothes.

Her apartment is a reflection of her new life.

The huge windows overlook the Luxembourg Gardens and give the impression of a dive in the sky of Paris.

The whole apartment can enjoy this view thanks to large openings in the living room, sliding doors installed in the kitchen and dining room.
The furniture are minimalist to let the space opened and were selected from Christian Liaigre.

A photo of Jean-Baptiste brings a touch of color in the kitchen.

More intimate atmosphere in the bedroom lined with silk taupe and some of her models hanged as pieces of decoration.

Our favorite French designer for stationery, Fifi Mandirac, has posted on her blog great ideas of origamis that can be turned in decoration objects.
Let's make decorative garlands, small bowls, to storage all our little things in the kitchen, in the bathroom or on a desk, and paper beads to make “the less expensive-necklace-of-the-world”! Not to forget the colorful windmills.

A little treehouse

It's back to school time! For her first day of school, Celeste has got a new little nest nicely decorated by her mom Morgane.
It's a blend of the latest trends in French decoration and home-made furniture for a very cozy interior!
First of her good choices the wallpaper with a retro feel by ISAK.

The alcove and the cupboards were made by her father ... very handy! Maybe he will inspire some others!
A small blue mushroom lamp grew on a shelf.
Inside the alcove the bed is from AMPM, from the same collection that the pink bookshelves.

The other walls are painted with "embruns" (Dulux Valentine) and highlight the small school desk.
Small garlands fly here and there.

The small tepee from Petit Collin creates a corner where the dolls have also their beautiful furniture.

No one has been forgotten in this fairy bedroom and certainly not Celeste!

The bedroom of the cherries

After Céleste, two other children returning from few years in Asia, have been offered a new bedroom In Paris.
For her "cherries", as she named her kids, Lise has concocted a world collecting furniture from flea markets, design furniture and furniture from French retail stores painted and accessorized by small delicate details.

Above the vintage furniture : cupboard, desk, chair and a commode all painted in various grays..

The beds from AMPM have also been painted in gray, in the same tones as the walls,
Ikea black shelf welcomes kids treasures enlightened by a pink mushroom lamp,
The stars carpet from CSAO welcomes games,
and the Eames chair provides a relaxing reading corner ...

A small child chair by Panton welcomes dolls who could not climb on the little pink highchair ...

From Bonpoint store, she brought the little cardboard suitcases ready to take the dolls or Japanese figurines for a new trip ...

When Designers decorate their kids bedroom...

The new French magazine Milk arrived in France and in California on my computer! A big bravo to the writers for the Deco pages.

I adore visiting the homes of others and especially their kids ones. So this issue on French kids bedrooms decorated by their parents also designers is a gift !
Carlotta, the daughter of Madelon, one of the two creative sisters of April Showers collection, can enjoy the sweet creations of her Mom as her blankets to sleep at night and a fun and colorful day with a simple and charming decor.
Her desk is a board painted with fuchsia, the little chair in chocolate color. Miffy doll, idol of Carlotta, found refuge in the bedroom such as the hooves from Holland, the native country of the family.

In Ophelie Esteve home the atmosphere is bohemian. I just love this little shop and stove made for her daughter Luna.

Let's stay in the pink atmosphere with Brune and Fleur's bedroom.

Their mother Estelle has designed for them a unique room with sliding doors and hand-made furniture which can quickly store girls'toys . To complete this little cocoon, nice touches here and there such as the pink shelf and photo holder by Conran Shop, the lighting garland by Tsé et Tsé for habitat, a retro apron by petit Pan and a Barbapapa character to watch the kids..

Change of scene and atmosphere for the boys with Antoine's bedroom in London.
The shades of red and khaki and the steel of the cabinet coexist harmoniously.

We are ready now for the whole special issue on decoration by Milk magazine. We should not wait too long...

Maison et objet Fair

This week was held in Paris, Maison et Objet fair, one of the most popular and expected fair in French decoration. An opportunity for me to find some of my favorite artists and discover some new features.
Thanks to the French bloggers fee maison, lao sur la colline and Marie-claire maison I could visit some stands on their blogs!
The very good surprise in the children section is the new collection of furniture by la chaise longue as this little school desk in light wood and metal painted in pastel shades ... an excellent value for those who, like me, have not the courage to fix a previous model found in a flea market.

Another good surprise was to realize that the furniture from Laurette, that I could admire at the Parisian showroom of AIRDEJE last summer, had their own stand.

A great opportunity to admire her collection of furniture inspired by the 40s, 50s with poetic names such as "Buffet gourmand", "Parisian wardrobe "" trailer bed "or" bedside secrets".

Fine furniture still in the retro spirit also with the famous brand Bonton.
In each collection you will find a bed, a highchair, a changing table in a variety of colors always punctiliously chosen: bright red, delicate violet, light gray or dark brown ... it is easy to find a hit from the wide choice.

Mimilou Stand is always joyful with animals, little stars and bubbles wall decals licately pasted on the walls and lit by beautiful paper lanterns.

Cushions and blankets with retro prints and shimmering colors filled the shelves from Petit Pan and sumptuous fabrics brought from India were covering the sofas at Lisa Corti corner.

Finally, for the parents, I particularly like the lighting in Japanese paper by Adeline Klam or made with wool from Non Jetable.
A vintage spirit for kids and Environmental concerns mixed with design for a zen decoration for the parents : all that I like!

New fall atmosphere at Bonton bazar

Last year the trendy brand Bonton, launched by the ex-owner of Bonpoint, opened a second "concept store" in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, called "the Bazar'. I visited it last summer and enjoyed the different decors.
A liberty print bedroom for girls, a soft grey for boys and the great paper lanterns by Appolline in Paris to light the house.

I also like the colorful kitchen decor.

And I have great news : a New collection of Bonton will appear this fall : Papillon by Bonton more classical with sweet cashmere, tweed for a soft winter !

This new fashion season for kids seems to be Very bohemian chic.
The september issue of French Marie-Claire magazine picked some nice pieces such as this cute white poncho from DPAM, the good cheap French brand for kids, and more high-end designers ones like Wowo or Louis Louise famous for their very parisian dresses.
It is always a pleasure to mix styles and colors together for chic but comfortable outfits for the kids.
